6 Different Types of Fasting Everyone Can Benefit From

Virtually everyone can benefit from fasting. Fasting is a brilliant way to use your body’s innate intelligence to help you better heal and self-regulate.

At the same time, I do NOT recommend fasting for children under the age of 16.

This is a summary of information I got from the chiropractor, women’s wellness expert, and author of Fast Like A Girl Dr. Mindy Pelz .

1. Intermittent Fasting: 13-15 hours (you can have tea, coffee)

**Moves you towards a fat-burning energy system

– Increases growth hormone, testosterone, ketones, regulation/control of glucose

– Decreases insulin, hunger hormones

– Helps mental clarity

2. Autophagy Fasting: 17-18 hours

**Important for brain and hormonal (testes/ ovaries) health

– Results in your body’s innate intelligence improving its own efficiency by stimulating cellular repair (apoptosis)

– Suggested to help control memory loss, Dementia, Alzheimer’s, menopause, andropause (low testosterone levels)

3. Gut Reset Fast: 24 Hours

**Improves leaky gut and immune system function

– Stimulates intestinal stem cell production

– Resets gut microbiome to start helping to lower blood pressure
